In our last post we unveiled a special offer we’re making this month, “Health for Those We Love.” To help you help those you love find health, [CORE] Chiropractic is having a “Health for Those We Love” Day on Valentine’s Day, February 14. On this special day, your loved one will receive a consultation, an examination, and any radiographic imaging (if needed) for only $30. (Appointment required. Space is limited.)
When you think of your loved ones, here are some ideas to consider for who might benefit the most from chiropractic:
Prenatal Chiropractic Care
Often I am asked, “At what age do chiropractors recommend for children to be adjusted?” My response is frequently, “Before they are born!” Chiropractic is a wonderful treatment during pregnancy. My former colleague, Dr. Jim George of the Central Institute of Human Performance in St. Louis, MO, has a recent study published in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology showing how beneficial chiropractic care can be for women during the last trimester of pregnancy. This study and many others like it show that women who receive chiropractic care during pregnancy take less pain medication, have fewer pain episodes during pregnancy, and rate their pregnancy overall as better.
Chiropractic Care for Kids
JAMA Pediatrics estimates that more than 3% of the nation’s pediatric population has had a chiropractic adjustment in the past year, making it the second most popular choice amongst alternative therapies for pediatric related conditions. Many chiropractors help children with everything from acute sports injuries, to ear infections, to chronic spinal conditions, to non-musculoskeletal conditions such as ADHD and allergies.
Chiropractic Care for the Elderly
Seven major benefits of chiropractic care for the elderly patient have been identified: pain relief, increased range of motion for the spine and extremities, improved balance and coordination, decreased arthritic joint degeneration, improved quality of life, decreased incidence of falling, and a reduced likelihood of being placed in a nursing home. One study that compared the chiropractic geriatric patient to other geriatrics saw a reduced rate of arthritis by 22%! With less joint pain, these patients were able to perform more strenuous exercise and saw the rate of long-term hospitalization and nursing care drop by over 43%. Chiropractic is a gentle and effective healthcare tool for the aging American population.
Chiropractic for Those Who Have a Spine
Even though the above groups can specifically benefit from chiropractic care, in general, if you have a spine, then you should see a chiropractor. Like a dentist who cares for anyone who has teeth regardless of whether or not they have a problem, a chiropractor should be used to care for your spine.
